Silence and Reflection

Silence It's weird how quiet it is. A clock ticking the hours away. A bird building a nest somewhere outside. A hummingbird. Silent enough to hear the thousands of thoughts coursing through my brain. "Just go home and reflect on it." "That's all I do nowadays, My mom isn't home. The house is drop dead silent. My dad doesn't get home until late, Later than usual. All I can do is think." I stare out the truck window. I can feel him looking at me, Hurt in his eyes. I never meant to hurt him, "You ok?" "Yeah, I'm fine." The same response I give people when I'm not ok, When I'm on the verge of tears. "What about you?" "Don't worry about me. Are you sure you're ok?" "Yeah." He wraps his arms around me, "Don't cry." "Don't worry about me. I'll be alright. I'm more worried about you." "Don't be." He's trying to be strong for me. He knows how lost I feel. He knows that we're just a couple of depressed kids Trying to find our way in this crazy world. This crazy, Loud Mixed up Fast Wild Cruel Unfair Lovely Confusing Fascinating World
