Silence is Golden
I have never seen your tongue
But if I had to guess
I’d say it’s made of gold.
What else could be the cause
Of your silence?
Your golden silence
That fills up my every day,
That soothes my soul,
That stills my silver tongue.
I am
The silver to your gold,
The sound to your silence,
The cold warmed by your heat.
And though I have not seen
your golden tongue,
I know you are far better
And far more loved than I.
For speech is silver
But silence is golden.
