Silenced

written 08/08/16

Why speak if I will be ignored?

My words will fall to the ground

Forgotten and left behind

Like dust around us.

Why is it that they aren't heard,

Or simply overlooked?

The words I speak you twist

To fit with the plans if your wit.

Then you will refute my corrections,

Refute my explanations and wishes.

Do you not see me pleading,

As I beg to be heard?

When I close my eyes to keep steady,

For in my own words I am drowning,

Yet you sit upon your throne frowning.

So I will stay silent,

And speak empty words,

And give in without a fight.

I'll then write it out with a pen,

Because at least the paperb will listen.
