Silent Battles

Constant war in one's mind Cannot easily be defined They are wars of which others are unaware But the one fighting them must always beware Choose to beat evil with joy Choose not to use those detrimental toys Silent battles are walked into wearing a mask of being "ok" What no one really knows is that the soldier wants today to be "the day" The day to get over the past WIshing today was the soldiers last No more tears or scars to hide But for now the soldier must abide Tolerate the battles yet to be won Believing that He is the One The One who chooses the soldiers fate Only He knows the actual date The date all this misery will come to an end Until that day the soldier needs a true friend

This poem is about someone struggling with life and toying around with the thought of suicide, toward the end the person comes to the realization that it is up to that person's Higher Power to know the date that the misery will end. The person realizes that there will always be battles and sometimes they just have to be tolerated and that the battle of life can not be won alone.
