The Silent Crack (Elegy)

The ground shook beneath my trembling feet

I felt weak,

The room was in a daze

Under the warm sunshine rays.

The screen in my head repeats the moments

Seconds, hours i’ve spent.

I grabbed my black dress

Pushed way in the back

And found the courage to put it around

Holding a harsh cold breath

That I have held deep in my chest.

I found myself saying good-bye

One last time.

You were the sunshine of

My life and now there’s nothing there,

except the darkness of the night.

The past four years have flown by

I can’t understand why.

I know you’re in a better place,

But I now understand how I will never see your face

While i’m still in this place.

Where the grass grows green,

But the sky's darkens to gray

And I can only sit here and pray.
