The silent goodbyes

Graduation around the corner,

Bright smiles shinning through

Soon, in a city alone, I'm a foreigner to me and you.

Anticipation building;

like the pressure beneath my eyes

I know where i'm going from here,

Like a building, I  will rise.

I will withstand the force of this life

And all those who come my way.

I will always be reminded of the poem,

"Nothing gold can stay."
