Silent Heart

There is a heart mangled and beaten to a pulp, and yet it still beats trying to hang on to a torn thread. Holding on to the slow whispers of broken promises and dreams. It beats slow so the soul can feel something real. Tears are numb to the body. It's screaming for air and gasping for life. But never heard from silent ears.
