The Silent Illness

Everyday I stepped out of class,

because of all the fogged up glass

behind my eyes that made it harder to see

harder to breathe,

harder to even take and chance and just be.

When living with a mental health illness all I ever hear are taboo's

how its all about me and my boo hoo's

well screw you, teachers, for making me feel unimportant.

Me taking a day off because I can't metally function IS a proper excuse .

What, because its not cancer, or a common cold I'm not allowed

A day or two to collect myself is not me being proud.

I am the same.

I am hurting.

I am just as important.

And maybe, just maybe, if you lived in my head, you'd understand

how its feels to get so mentally attacked that you cant even stand.

If I could scream for you to open your eyes,

open your heart,

and accept that things are not always what they may seem.
