The Silent Killer

Love used to be flowers and dates

What I loved was a man with stakes

Why I’d wake and what I’d think at night

Love used to be the thing that held me so tight

Love was a soft pillow that engulfed my fear

What it really meant- no feelings here

Why I’d live and why I’d breathe

Loved used to be the sun and everything underneath

Love is the fuel for the fire

Burning me in all its entire

It is what makes me so weak

And even now I can hardly speak

Love will be the real death of me

It is the only killer of this thing called ‘we’

Because you love me isn’t fair

Your love is a knife in my nightmare
