Silent Lips, Screaming Heart

I have silent lips

And a screaming heart,

A monster that pains me so.

It chops me down

when I want to grow.

It makes me doubt

what I feel and know.

Ripping, roaring, screeching, tearing,

Destroying me from the inside.

This beast

Of agony and rage.

Why am I searching for answers

On a blank page?

So much devastation, betrayal, frustration,

Humiliation.

Trapped in a smothering box,

Shriveling from

love dehydration.

Falling and falling

Crawling

in darkness.

Can't breathe,

can't think,

All this hate and silence.

Walking in circles.

Nowhere

as my destination.

Writing is all that I have

All that I can find to relieve this pressure,

Swelling, ballooning, separating me

From myself.

No one understands,

so I write.

No one sees,

so I write.

No one believes,

so I write

and write

and write

to make things right.
