The Silent One
Silently the sister sews shirts for the swans.
Those who are cursed by the sorceress' spawn.
Up in a tree with aster in hand.
The princess is found by the king of the land.
She will be my queen, the king says from his throne.
Oh dear if only he had known.
That his bride to be was really a man.
To know the truth we must return to where we began.
A king wanted a girl but was cursed with a son.
This is when the silent sister's troubles truly begun.
Dressed as a girl and taught to sew.
Oh dear is only he had known.
Six years go by and the cradle lay bare.
Five young swans still fly in the air.
As the silent sister walks to a fiery grave.
He opened his mouth by no sound he gave
As the last hour passed and the curse broke upon the swans
The king was rewarded with another king's spawn.
The silent sister opened his mouth and there he said.
I gave you some children now let me go to bed.
