Silent Promises
April 8-2014
Silent Promises
Going around,
Meeting new friends
She outta forget drugs
And start making amends
Can’t let them end up
Being like me
gotta protect them
“The truth will set me free”
I can’t tell them
They won’t survive
I need to continue to try
To make it right, gotta strive
They can’t be introduced to this
This side of town
Drugs do nothing
But bring everybody down
I write down words
The way that I feel
But no words can describe
This big of a deal
Constant crying
And suffering more
Wish I could just
Slam and lock the door
Lock it up in there
Don’t let it out
I would enjoy hearing
Its cries of “mercy”---hearing it shout
I’d walk away smiling
It’s no longer a problem
If it was that easy
That’s how id solve all of em
Grades are suffering
I’m loosing my mind
I just spelled that wrong
My sanity I need to find
I can no longer concentrate
Smoke clouding my process
Sometimes I wish my mind
Could finally become fogless
I feel as if I’m blind
Leading the way, eyes covered tight
Gotta continue trying my best
Gotta try and make it right
I am my relief
Without the girls I’m gone
Not wishing I could be a kid again
Don’t want to---it’s been too long..
