Silently Fearful

I fear the silence
I fear it at night, cold and lonely
Covering me like a thick blanket
My heart pounds and my ears throb
A painful moment
I fear the silence
So I step into the noise
And I fear the confrontation
Of the empty sound in my heart
I am disgruntled
And I lack of that in courage
To slay the monster of silence
That surrounds my loneliness
What can I do to satisfy
This insatiable nothingness?

...
So I fear the silence
