Silly Fool
Sitting all alone I find myself smiling like a fool.
Grinning from ear to ear as though I have the luxury to sit and dream.
I'm supposed to be doing something...but... I just can't seem to recall.
I know that the version of you in my head is surface things that I know about you.
This version of you does not depict the fears you hold inside.
It does not reveal the darkest reaches of your past.
This version concocted is mere fantasy.
The grotesque illusion of Happily Ever After.
A disgusting display of Disney fallacy.
How can two souls who despise chimera be filled with elation when speaking?
You silly fool of a girl.
How can you allow yourself to indulge the idea that he is the one you have been longing for?
I wasn't looking to be charmed by the way his voice makes my stomach flutter.
I had no inclination of desire to allow my skin to feel ablaze as his finger tips gently brushed against my skin.
My lips yearn to feel yours pressed against mine once again.
Your scent still lingers and you have never stepped foot inside my home, yet there you are!
I want nothing but amazing things for you.
How can one blissful night of conversation and genuine companionship turn to whimsy delusions of a future not to come?
This is why I must let you go.
I must take back my energy.
I apologize for expecting you to be who I thought you could be instead of accepting you for you in this moment.
...I'll wait here like a silly fool until you feel it too.
