The Silver in Me

Silver is more than a color

silver is more than what you see

to me, silver is the color of the shine of the Color Guard pole passing by, almost hitting me in the face

it's what distracts me in class

and what I see when I think of silver

It's the flower alone in the field

and the moon in the sky

Silver is the color of dance

and the color of my laugh

it's the gleam on a new car

and the sparkle in my eye

it's a new day for a new chance

and it's a new start for the last

Silver is the color of my video game controller

and the color of my ink

it's the mystery of my life

and the footsteps behind me

it's the change of a decision

and really close to gray and black

Silver may be just a color to you

but silver is more than a color to me
