Silver Spoon

Single mother

Trying her best
Raising three kids

Going to college
Life was stressful
Hectic
Never had anything handed to me
Wasn't born with a silver spoon in my mouth
But was born with a plastic one
And was taught that if I wanted that silver spoon
Then it was my responsibility to get it

Myself
So I do
I live my life trying to make money
Get scholarships
Join clubs
Get good grades

So I can replace that plastic spoon with a silver one

I've seen people struggle
People regret not getting a good education
Regret not having a good job
Struggling and hustling
So I work hard now
So I don't have to later in life
Seeing my family struggle has made me a
Dedicated
Determined
Go getter
That's me
I am Lauren
And will always be reaching
Striving

Hoping

And wishing
For that silver spoon

Lauren2020

Youngest of three. Born in New York but moved with my mother to Maryland. My parents were married but I lived with my mother in NY while my father had my two brothers. We reunited in Maryland just for them to divorce , move apart and our financial situation to become considerably worse. So now I write. I write to express myself , say what I could only wish to say outloud and to get scholarships. I apply for scholarships to do for myself and my future family , what my parents could only dream of doing.
