Similarest, Differentest, Lostest

what’s different between you and I?

is it our hair color, our skin color?

or could it be our eyes or how tall we are?

maybe it’s the fact am a girl and you’re a boy

But does that define us?

no

so what does?

could it be our personality? yes

what about the way we express ourselves? yes

or maybe how we refer to ourselves?

could our friends define us?

maybe our family?

should we let these factors define us?

no

so who or what gets the right to define us?

you, me, him, her, them?

the world? society? social media?

when do we have the right to take away those rights from people?

never

we are built to fit those definitions society and social media give us

our generation is run by stereotypes and ideas about how we should be

we try to fit in but lose our true selves little by little

at the end of the day we are what we are told to be

but at what point do we get the right to define ourselves?
