Simple Confession

You ought to be next to me

I say

I wish for that so fervently

Nearly everyday

What luck I must have to make you mine

You’ve stolen my heart

And that’s just fine

Still why must we be so far apart?

All I want is to hold your hand,

See you smile, take you on a date

Dear, don’t you understand?

I can no longer wait

Just know my words are true

Honey, I think I’m in love with you
