A simple gift

Given to me by my mother lovingly
So simply packaged
A bright turquoise bow delicately placed
on a charcoal black box
So frail, yet stunning
A symbol of hope
You remind me of sad times
You remind me of happy times
You give me memories I wish to forget
You give me compliments
You are the reason why I still love her
The reason I still miss her.
Without you I am lost
I feel as if a piece of me is missing
You are a gift every day
My last gift from her
Even though you snag on my clothes,
Cause holes and tears, I don't care
You are cheap but rich with memories
You are a must-have
Sometimes you cause me pain
But at the same time you are my healer
Your shine is gone
You don’t wear the same
Or feel the same
You’re not as smooth as you once were
You have changed with me
Still sturdy and strong, but a little worn down
You still are charming
You still make me feel complete
You still give me reassurance
You still remind me of where I have come from
And where I want to go
