Simple Love
Simple Love
A healthy relationship starts inside
where the heart and soul reside
Not with words or promises or gifts
But with love and care that lifts
Because to love is to be a thief
of one's heart, and to keep it too
but how to keep it the thief has no clue
It is simple love that holds the heart
And that's where a healthy relationsip is to start
To laugh together is to love together
Playing scrabble in stormy weather
Walking and talking
and talking and walking
one realizes what the other means
to him or her, almost simultaneously
Both see the difference when
the other isn't there and then
The one says "I'm at my best when I'm with you"
To which the other replies "For me too this is true"
Because simple love is what holds the heart
and that's where a healthy relationship is to start
