Simple thoughts lay me to rest

Simple thoughts lay me to rest I fight everything in me just to bring out the best Anything I imagine becomes a test Simple thoughts lay me to rest Insanely surprised by what you see Just take a look at my history I breathe through my veins not my chest As my blood flows east to west Oh simple thoughts lay me to rest Crippling past holds me back It’s like growling wolves in a pack Stuck in mud Can’t seem to move My past isn’t the best Simple thoughts lay me to rest These tears will fall down my face Something I choose not to embrace Tonight I’ll leave, won’t be a pest So here I say lay me to rest, “Simple thoughts lay me to rest. I’ve failed your challenge, couldn’t pass this test. It may seem I didn’t try very hard but maybe I was just dealt a different card. Dress me in my Sunday best, Oh simple thoughts lay me to rest.”
