Simplicity

What is simplicity in its simplest form?

Can a fox befriend the fleeting sparrow?

And like snowflakes drifting soft underground

Frozen pure souls cast their eyes as arrows

To escape their wretched silver tongue

Howls and cries and claw-like fangs to tear flesh

Confess, confess! Your deceit gets men hung

Oh! To exile I am forced by stress

Begotten the tailor a crown of wine

Craft it for me, I who am lowly sin

And then, perhaps, the dispelling fox can sign

And see the fleeing sparrow as his kin

What is simplicity in its simplest form?

To all above, to all below, who mourn
