Simply

Ill keep it quite simple

A book is all I need to keep

One where I can hide away during the cold and bitter nights

Hunger cannot reach me if I am stuck between the lines

Thirst cannot reach me if I am lost in the pages

but maybe I need a fireplace too

To read by the firelight
