Simply, I
Me.
What a full word.
What a confusing, misty, loaded
concept.
An idea
formed over years of careful thought.
I am
broken.
I am lost and shattered and altogether
one big mess.
My face is cracked
and my heart is shielded from the hateful words
of those I meet.
However
I am being repaired.
I am healing and my cracks
are filling with gold and silver;
my pieces are being glued together
with molten lava which reflects
my passion for life.
Inside I feel
a fire,
burning brighter every day.
A tingling
from my fingers to my toes
tells me that I
am still alive.
That in every nerve of my skinny body
there are cells
working, moving, desperately trying
to keep me here.
I am powerful.
I am growing, I am seeing,
and every minute I am feeling
what it's like to be me.
Me.
What a full word.
What a confusing, misty, loaded
concept.
It is beautiful.
I am beautiful.
I am confusing and misty and loaded
with mystery and intelligence that maybe no one
has seen.
I am me.
And if that is all I can be,
I am content.
