Simply I Say

Simply I say, that I sleep no more,

Poetry is one that knocks on thine door,

I answer when prompted, when obliged by invitation,

I seek its hope, to write in speculation.

Yet words, oh beautiful words! how they dwell within.

Exposing my heart, unleashing the Din

that echoes within,

My deep-dwelling place.

Whisk me not from my world, see that I am content.

To dwell within, the years I have spent,

a-gathering my stones that weigh me so low

you poet, my love, have taught me to grow.

Strengthened up high not from down below,

The rocks turn to dust; like sands on the wind,

quieting the deep, the place with such Din.
