Simply Sugar

Dear Sugar (my canine companion),

Every day you greet me so affectionately,

With your cinnamon eyes gazing at me--lovingly.

Soft, with an immense and gentle heart,

You accepted me right from the very start.

Filled with utter empathy and innocence,

I have no choice but to always grant you forgiveness.

You know how to melt me to pieces,

But what will happen when our love ceases?

I cannot bear thinking of future separation,

For now we are unified by sheer exaltation.

Your presence seems to make like fuller,

You are pure sweetness and just simply--Sugar.
