Dear Dad,

When she exposes the jagged, the blood-dark secret,
the jugular of her violation to a whispering, distant jury of billions

 

When you disinfect, redirect, protect, respect, subject,
object, noun: that which is acted upon. Expect, because
boys will be, and - the industry is, and - there's two sides to every
 

 

Story of the girls who never whispered their nightmares,

who clutched their terror like the ripped-out sweat-curled
diary page of a memory to which they are a heretic
 

 

When I wonder late at night what you would say if you knew I was one of them
