Sincerely, that Poor Black American girl

A little girl
Thinking about the world
A bigger world
Not thinking about that little girl
A world so cold
A world so unclean
A world where people will kill to be seen
You see racism has not ceased
Yet when it comes to colors
The only one that matters is green
Green is a color we all have to respect
A color one rarely sees growing up in the projects
The projects, a place where the poor stays
But inside of her, rich knowledge lives
But inside of her she urges for brighter days
A girl so poor, yet not poor in spirit
She prays to the master
Hoping that he hears it
A world so cold, will meet that loving girl
Green or no green, she'll change this world
One word at time, she'll shine
That girl will get her education
Even if it takes YouTube
To capture the ears around the nation
