(SIN)dependence

The double door entry way becomes the exit way

And the rustling of papers are now your own demise.

Look in the mirror and have the one-sided conversation

And let the lies hypnotize

You in your solitude.

Awakened alone, put to rest alone,

You took your independence awry

Ignoring the subte cry

From that thing called your conscience.

Is it coincidental, then,

That "sin" lies within independence?

Or that "within" can end with the beginning

Of independence?

The calendars have run out of pages

And the wages of this is adulthood-

The exit signs above the doors

Really mark the beginning.
