Sinema

From Griffith to Godard, from Chaplin to Chabrol

These cinematic gods,  were alt'ring conceived norms.

May they be works of art, or portals to the soul,

But adolescence makes, for lack a better term

A distance great, a day too late, some hate of passed.

Though Dante's impact still, as seen by rhymes in turn

Is known throughout the world, as he is taught in class.

Yet Ford, the country's best, poetically

Is extra-curricular, tragically.

Gance, no less romance

Than who is studied by chance;

Yet film eschewed, an art subdued

By those providing grants.

"What is culture?"; And what of living?

Renoir neglected; a mockingbird killed;

Ozu still ignored; Atlas never shrilled;

Truffaut, a true foe; Wai, "Why?"

Identical issues; a mere question of time.
