Sing Along
Standing on the hill
With my heart in my hands
Crying. My tears, after
Rolling down my cheeks,
Drip into my swaddled heart
Whereupon they immediately evaporate
And rise like prayers-
Rise to greater summits
Where they are accepted as such,
And return tenfold with the rain
Far below the valleys sigh
I cover my head
Sit beneath my
Favorite tree
And sing along.

Personal grief transformed into spiritual/abstract metaphor of cyclical renewal
Moderate density; grief narrative interwoven with philosophical reflection on tears/prayer
Sadness acknowledged but reframed through spiritual acceptance and cyclical hope
Contemplative, meditative pacing with gentle movement; no explosive intensity
Approximately 24 lines; falls within 16-30 range
Rich metaphors: heart as vessel, tears as prayers, cyclical transformation; dense ornamentation
Pure lyric internal voice; introspective, first-person emotional experience throughout
