Sing With Me
Some things can’t exist,
But by the voice of an angel,
Singing in the night.
Words of reflection,
of choice,
In the song sung with a changing soul,
Come to a new light.
Inflection of deeper pain,
Prayers for peace and peals of mourning,
In a song take flight.
As poetry reveals with eloquence
What great minds concoct and ponder,
So does song invite.
Sing with me of sorrow,
With melodies rising and falling,
Crashing to the shore,
bathed in moonlight.
Those powerful feelings overcome thought;
Your words have colour,
have images, have depth,
Nothing feels so right.
Do thorns claw at your mind,
Drawing you from thought and solely to pain?
Is there something that needs saying,
That also needs to be heard?
Does your soul seek for rest?
Song lays you under a warm quilt and hums its song.
In dark, song is a night-light.
There, peace is your insight.
There your mind is captured in white.
Your fears and dreams unite,
Teaching truths to the heart contrite.
And, when your fear has taken flight,
It whispers a loving, understanding, ‘Good-night’.
