sing to me about a feeling

it's not like staring through the window at the falling rain

it's not like sunlight filtering through the leaves

yet again

I'm running on ribbons of light

but I can't keep going for long

catching up with the brazen sky

glass is never strong

strong enough

and it hasn't been this way forever

but I've lost track of how it was

and it hasn't been this way forever

but I've seen this slowly become

fires burning on the floor

rain falling from the ceiling

eyes opened yet again

and all this time the feeling of

solace

isolation

peace and grueling pain

dormant wounds falling wide open

gasping yet again

for a breath of fresh air

oh a breath of fresh air

for a breath of fresh air

throw the window open

throw my heart into the night

this one time

and it's not like wandering through the fields of sunlight

it's not like the wind softly whispering

through the trees

I'm falling through a sea of concrete

and I can't keep swimming for long

tearing skin on the broken ground

hearts are never hard

hard enough

and it hasn't been this way forever

but I've lost track of how it was

and it hasn't been this way forever

but I've seen this slowly become

cracks splitting through the windows

hands growing from the doors

vision broken yet again

and all this time the feeling of

solace

isolation

peace and grueling pain

quiet woes becoming louder

screaming yet again

for a breath of fresh air

oh a breath of fresh air

for a breath of fresh air

throw the window wide open

throw my heart into the night

this one time

this one time

this one time

do you think I'll be alright?
