Singing Silver
Locked away from the world outside
Trained from young how to run and hide
Flight first and never to fight
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Never given a second glance
Losing all at her very first chance
Brass doesn’t shine in the low light
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Keys dangle just out of reach
She doesn’t try even once to succeed
Staring at them every night
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Keys to the lock one day unexpected
Treated with care after years neglected
Key and lock with a click as unite
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Shying away from helping hands
Faith that has dwindled years on end
Pain and suffer has clouded her sight
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Day after day of words given comfort
Slowly willing to go after their effort
Allowing trust with all her might
A bird in a cage singing tonight
The cage door opens all the way out
She hops forward slowly with much doubt
Given a chance in the newborn twilight
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Jumping from way high up in the stars
She stretches her wings out really far
Feeling a rush of pleasing delight
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Pure as wind on soundless beach
Spreading out wing as far as can reach
Loops in the sky she beings to write
A bird in a cage singing tonight
Innocent silver cascading in lines
Old brass left in memories without shine
Like an angel in chorus heavenly flight
A bird set free soaring tonight
