Single Lover of Love

This seemingly intangible thing is always out of reach

Seemingly, teasing me, as it plays with me

It lingers close but never near, as it loves to be

Mysterious and wondrous, closed up and yet free

I don’t know whether to cry or accept and be “free”

But a part of me wants this love everyone seems to need

I see it in the movies, and read it in the books

Where is MY love? And I must ask one more thing.

The question I must ask, is very simple, you see . . .

I don’t know what is love, this thing, everyone seems to need

Yes, I promise you I’ve seen it, in the books, and in the movies

Yet . . . I still, don’t really see it . . .

Nonetheless, yes I need it

This love and what it’s brings

So if you need a piece of me, I promise you I’ll give in

And be in love till the end, waiting for you to come in

Just knock the door and I’ll be waiting
