A Single Simple Need

We do this every day
We hardly bat an eye
Everyone does it
But no one thinks twice
It's a very simple action
A common basic need
All I really need
Is my ability to speak

We all tell stories
We all hold conversations
But how often do we sit in silence?
We are always speaking
Communication is key
We use it everyday
This is just our way

I  speak my mind
My heart
My soul
I put my feelings into words
To phrases
To stories

My words become emotions
My promises turn to actions
My words are the foundation to who I am
They make up who I am inside and out
They are what make up how others see me

My words are just something I couldn't live without
