SINGLE WOMAN BY KERL-ANN GUERRA
A brother in church whiping his face
Met me in thanksgiving place
He looked at my left hand
That bore no shame
And never one day had a stain
He cast his eyes, turn up his noise
And says you’re a single woman I suppose
He says girl, go find a husband
Add some value to your congregation
I said by GOD and these praying hands
You must recognize a single woman
Up in the heavens, the holy place
Where my Jesus intercedes on my case
I have wisdom and knowledge
That did not come from collage
And Contentment in my heart
God’s amazing grace which sets me apart
His blessings are abundant, flowing like a river
And his promises are powerful like the sound of thunder
Dat by GOD and my praying hands
Is a the property of a single woman
I wake up early morning time
And set meh knee down, getting ready for the days climb
Ah bend meh back for them children dey
And ask GOD to make a way
Praising and praying, shouting and dancing
Till sun drop back an ah cah see de mountain
And in de cool evening time
Whistling dis likkle rhyme
[Sung] praise God and these praying hands
The master have kept me in his plan
Thanksgiving Day is a special day
I count my blessings all the way
Feed the soul the word
Only reaping all I was told
Heading down to my father’s house
Excited to share without a doubt
