Sinking

Have you ever just stopped and looked around you?

At all the people that keep moving, going on with their lives,

not caring that you're stopped right in your tracks.

You just sit there and watch everyone moving around you while you’re stuck.

Soon you have been standing there for so long, that you can't find the strength to start moving with them again.

You want to move, you want to rejoin the world but you just can’t.

You try your hardest or at least what you think is your hardest to move but it's like you're in quicksand:

Unable to get out and slowly sinking,

moving farther and farther away from everyone.

You want to speak up and ask for help but you can't seem

to get through to them.

They are so worried about their own busy lives that they don't even notice you  slowly disappearing.

You can't seem to panic or even care enough to keep trying to move though.

Your mind is empty, you just let it continue to pull you down until all that's

left to be seen is your head and there doesn't seem

to be any hope that you're going to get out.

You give up and right before your eyes are submerged in the sand,

someone is there.

A person starts pulling you up,

trying to save you because you aren't trying

to save yourself anymore.

You don't know this person or why they would stop their life

just to try and save yours, so you fight against it.

You try to keep yourself in the same spot.

You feel comfortable with the sinking feeling so you don't want to get out and have to deal with the world again.

This person won't let go though, no matter how

hard you pull, they won't let go.

They want to save you even though you don't want to save yourself.

You have to stop fighting against it.

Instead of fighting this person,

fight to get out of the sand, its pull is strong,

But so are you, just stop letting everything wash over you and realize that

this is your chance to break free.

To save yourself and all you are doing is denying the fact that you can be saved

because you've been sinking so long you don't know how to walk or talk, or even just live anymore.

But you have to.

No matter how hard you fight or even when you stop fighting and just

stop moving altogether this person won't let go of you,

they won't let you fully disappear.  They want you to stop making yourself

think it's okay to just leave and

they want to make you want to live.

Even though no one else notices

you sinking faster and faster, this person isn't going to give up or

stop fighting for you until you're fully

out of this quickstand, you're stuck in,

And neither should you.
