Sinking Ship

Ironic, isn’t it?

That even while wearing a life jacket in the open ocean, you can still perish.

Maybe waves wash over you or you fall into frigid water and you freeze. Who knows? Maybe a shark could find you as a tasty snack.

Maybe this could be a metaphor for our lives sometimes.

You could feel like you’re aboard a sinking ship and someone is holding onto you.

They’re your life jacket.

And you need them more than anything.

Although you are “wearing” this “life jacket” and it’s trying it’s best to keep you afloat, you can still feel as if you’re sinking.

But It’s not their fault, no, never their fault. They really are trying to help you.

But sometimes it’s hard to keep you above the water even though they try their hardest to help you.

It’s not such a bad thing though, you see, because once they can help you, they won’t give up on you.

And maybe then you’ll feel buoyant once more.

Maybe then you’re life jacket will keep you afloat.
