"Sinking Ships"
My Ships set sail,
For your rescue.
Armies arise in your defense.
To you I surrendered,
My hands in the air,
But for me,
you would not cross a puddle,
Unless I first built a bridge.
You were my whole ocean,
To you I was a mere drop in the sea.
What hurts me even more,
Is that I've treated others,
With your same cruelty,
So I forgive you.
Not because you deserve it,
Nobody does,
But if I hold on any longer,
My head may not belong to my shoulders.
My will is not my own.
The sun has shone,
I see you as someone,
I could never know.
Like a bird, away you flew
For if I had always gotten what I wanted,
I would still have you,
My hurting hands begin to heal,
As my ships sink,
These words become real.
