A Sinner's Sonnet

A SINNER’S SONNET

My sweet sour lover

So discreet we must hide under covers

For this love we share is not right

Is it worth the trouble? Worth all the fights

It was said that God made woman for man

Yet here I stand asking for this fair lady’s hand

Abominations we shall be

For her I’m the devil’s advocacy

Commoners pass by they will judge

Yet to realize they sin like us

Glutney, greed, lies, the worst: adultery

Are sins like my sins can’t they see

I will love this lady till my very last breath

Live life the way you want or life is death
