Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair No thanks she replied, for up here it's quite fair I've grown to be fond of this tower, my lair I live on my own now, there's no need to share This left the prince with a dumbfounded look That was not the reply for which he had forsook If he wanted to wed, he would need a good hook For Rapunzel enjoyed living up in that nook The prince then came up with a crafty new line He said "marry me and together, we'll shine" The princess replied with a "thanks, but I'm fine" The poor prince will now sit alone, should he dine
