Sir Philip's student

lyrics and stanzas can sway all minds

some wish and choose to be blind

but poetry teaches and delights

the way Philip Sidney thought it might

he apologized like a captured foreigner

it is best he stuff those sorrows in a corner

because poetry can help us relate

to an outcast, alien or inmate

some think it's a waste of time

but I know I'll make the climb

show people what I can do with rhyme

put myself in it and make it mine
