Siren of the Soil

The dark sky begins to churn. The premature raindrops Strike the ears and cultivate the earth. The whisper of the wheat. The subsequent hail Dances on the stalks and rattles the husks. The cry of the corn. The twisting winds Ravage the hulls and shred the flowers. The scream of the soybeans. The coiling clouds Infuriate the rain and upturn the soil. The siren of the soil is inaudible.
