Siren's Song
I hide behind giant rocks and follow other boats out to sea
Because now the dream is shattered that you'll ever see me.
I'm always no more than a stone's throw away from the shore;
Yet I do not wish to speak, I wish to kill sailors no more.
You sleep so peacefully on the shimmering sand,
I'm an eternity away from holding your hand.
I am amused that you awaken, so confused --
Because the Fates are oh so cruel.
The waves that crash upon
The rocks you gracefully walk along
Are singing a hushed lullaby;
They sing in my stead, can you hear my cry?
Let's get lost at sea,where they will never find us.
We have the moon and the stars to guide us.
Let's get lost at sea, just you and me!
I know that my love for you is deadly, so I must silence my melody.
I am unable to cry because the ocean dissolves my tears.
Oh how I wish I could because I've now met my greatest fear --
Love. And I'm not allowed to love at all.
There is no gravity beneath the currents, but I still feel like I fall.
A beautiful mirage of a memory that will never be:
Walking along the shore with you, seeing you smile at me.
I want nothing more than to rescue you again and over again,
But it would do no good in the end.
The waves that crash upon
The rocks you gracefully walk along
Are singing a hushed lullaby;
They sing in my stead, can you hear my cry?
Let's get lost at sea, where they will never find us.
We have the moon and the stars to guide us.
Let's get lost at sea, just you and me!
I know that my love for you is deadly, so I must silence my melody.
If you listen closely to the wind, you'll hear a faint whisper - it's true.
I sacrificed myself to another element, just to say "I love you".
At least I can caress your face as you lift your handsome face to the breeze
But the waves said they would keep their promise, and sing what will never be:
Let's get lost at sea, where they will never find us.
We have the moon and the stars to guide us.
Let's get lost at sea, just you and me!
I know that my love for you was deadly, so I silenced my melody.
So hush now, my prince - and listen to the wind.
Even in death, my love will never end.. though in the water, it did begin.
