SISTER SISTER

My sweet sister
She took care of me in my early years
Loving me, teaching me, caring for me
One day everything changed
'Sister, don't be scared'
Alone in a foreign land
Inexperienced she was
Struggled she did
All to make a quid
'Sister you're gonna be alright'
To make it she endured years of hardship
Living in harsh conditions
Taking care of her family
Even from a thousand miles
'Sister you're a survivor'
Now, now she is free
Now everything is better
Now we can be together
Together at last
After so many years
'Sister you're gonna be okay'
Now she can do what she wants to do
Be who she wants to be
Now our family can be whole again
Because our jewel is coming back home
'Sister you're gonna be alright'

This poem is about:
Me
