Sitting here with you

Sitting here with you,

While you describe your perfect date.

Hoping one day its me youre sharing it with.

I watch the glancing of your eyes from me to the girl across the way.

It doesn't bother you that I like you, your to busy noticing her.

I urge you to go to her,

Silently wishing you'd stay with me.

You get up and leave, taking a piece of me.

Sitting here with you,

While you talk about her,

Saying your glad you were with me when your eyes first met.

I nod along and smile as if I'm on cue.

Wishing it was me you'd hold.

But no, instead its her.

You talked to me about your future,

Explaining it to me.

But that's when I realized you were missing the most important piece.

Sitting here with you, while we plan and plan.

You introduce me to your bride yet somehow I'm sad.

You want me in your wedding,

I'm your best friend, I should be.

But for some reason your Fiance doesn't quite like me.

Why is she jealous?

I mean she got you.

She took the key to my future,

My most important piece,

You.

Sitting here with you,

On your wedding day.

Your standing down the aisle,

What can I say?

You look truly stunning

Your taking my breath away.

Yet you are being married away.

She stole my night,

She stole my day,

She stole my bery breath I breath away.

Sitting here with you,

Its now 8 months later.

I haven't seen you since the night she took you away.

I'm seeing you for the first time tonight,

I can't believe you agreed...

I thought she took complete control over you.

You arribe at my house late avoiding my eyes,

We get into the car, then starts the lies.

You say that you're happy, happy as can be.

You say that you miss me,

How lonely its been not to see.

I  look into your eyes,

Nothing. The spark is gone.

The one thing I've know for oh so long.

It pains me to see you weren't happy with her,

You smile slightly,

And that's when I realized you were happy with me.

All at once, it happend so qick.

We've cheated on her, lighting a new candle wick.

Sitting here with you,

Holding you hand.

Waiting in the hosital room,

I don't understand.

9 months ago you kissed me, and said it meant so much.

Now we are waiting for your future daughter or son.

It was in that moment that the doctor came in,

Saying it was a him.

You dropped my hand and yelle dout with glee.

I was happy for you but I was happier for me.

I was here for you just like I alwasy wanted to be.

Although I wished I was her, giving you the one thing you'll alwasy need.

A family.

Sitting here with you

I've realized I'm just a friend and one who can never be seen.

For yoru scared your wife will find out you cheated on her with me.

So I slowly fade away, leaving behind the scenes.

Watching your family grow,

Your kids know nothing of me.

I no longer exist,

It's as clear as day to see, I now realized we are not meant to be.

Sitting here with you,

Right by the grave.

Wondering if something I said, would have made all of this go away.

I feel a hand touch my shoulder, whispering "Its time to go."

He helps my up,

Not so long ago.

He broke up with his wife,

Realzing we were meant to be.

We've been married 20 years,

5 kids ranging between.

Sitting here with you,

Starring into your eyes.

I wipe away the tears,

Trying not to cry.

We've been through so much,

I can hardly believe,

Why youe ven chose to stay with me.

I whisper "I love you" and you say it back.

I finally realized,

I got my happiness at last.
