Sitting in the Shadow of God

A house pet sits alone She stays in wait for her owner Held back by chains unbeknown Her emptiness employed by her binds’ beholder ***** A house pet sits alone Her soul grows weak, her heart colder She moves in short, keeps her voice intone Still he keeps her ashamed, in an angry smolder ***** A house pet sits alone She dreams of rising, if she was only bolder Tired of feeling powerless, of feeling bemoan She just wants her liberty, to be free of her scolder ***** She is not just a house pet sitting alone Her movement won’t fade even as she grows older Until he steps down from his unwarranted throne And the burden on her is no longer a heavy boulder ***** Change is the only way to survive For he and she will never be free In truth humanity will never thrive Until we all share equality
