Sitting Woman

I see you sitting calmly, bottle of wine and a cup on top of the table, perhpas you may be drunk as you sit with a blank look on your face.  The room is dark and foggy, but you shine like a light as you quietly sit waiting.  Waiting for whom I may ask?  Perhaps you may be waiting for that one special person in your life that may or may not come.

Suddenly it hit me! You are a lot like me. As I sit at my own table, bottle of wine at my side, I may be drunk but not so much to notice the beauty you emanate.

Your face sticks out from the crowd and I imagine how it may be if both of us would get together and talk about our lives.  But I sit on my table and you at yours staring at blank space.

Alas I see beyond you the light that shines from the darkened room your silhouette which slowly shows your beauty.

Oh, how I wish I had the courage to get up and greet you, to get to know you better.  But I cannot find the courage, it was not meant to be.  I just sit at my own table watching you from a distance as I drink my wine.
