Six Letter Word

A six letter word no one wants to say

But people get diagnosed with it everyday

Some may be serious and others may be mild

Its heart breaking to see it in a child

They have their whole lives ahead of them and it has to stop in its tracks

While the mother and father wait and try to relax

Relaxing is hard for them to do

They put their trust in doctors even if they don't want to

Some get better in weeks, months or years

While some never find comfort but try to fight tears

Twittle dee Twittle doe

We must all let our loved ones go

To a safe haven in the sky

Where all their pains will pass them by

We will remember them till the day

That it is our turn to fly away
